What This Place Is
A Record Store is a record store. There are records in it, and the records are for sale. Some of them are new and some are used, and we tell you which is which. There is also some merch, a few books, and gift cards, because somebody always asks for gift cards.
This is the part of the website where a real store would tell you where it is and how long it's been there and why it started. We left it generic on purpose. The point of this page is not the words. The point is that the page exists, looks good, and works.
The Person Who Runs It
There is a person who runs this store. They have a name and a reason for doing this, and on a real site, this is where you would read about both. They would tell you a story, and it would be a good one, and you would like them a little more by the end of it.
You can picture it. That's the idea. A real store fills this in with a real person. We just built the place for them to do it.
The Back of the Store
There is more to the store than the front of it. There is a back, and things happen back there. Events, sometimes, and the work of running a store the rest of the time. A real store would describe its back room here, in a way that made you want to see it.
Some nights it's busy back there. Some nights it's just a Tuesday. You take what the day gives you. That's true of most stores, and it's true of this one.
What We Sell
Records. We sell records. A real store would list the genres here, and get specific, and maybe name a few favorites. The stuff they're proud to carry, the stuff worth the trip. We've kept it generic, but the structure is real: this is exactly where that copy goes.
If we don't have a record you want, you ask, and sometimes we track it down. That's how record stores work. Half the good records in any shop got there because somebody asked for them.
The Store's Rules
- The records are for sale. That is the first rule and most of the others follow from it.
- If you're looking for something we don't have, ask. That's the whole job.
- Be decent to the person at the counter. They're doing their best.
- Handle the records gently. We'd like to sell them to somebody eventually.
- Prices are the prices. We're not really set up to haggle.
- If you're not sure about a record, that's fine. Take your time. The record will wait.
